About Garden of Remembrance

The Garden of Remembrance is a memorial garden in central Chatswood, honouring people from the Willoughby district who died in war.

Its Cross of Remembrance stands on a grass mound shaped like a First World War soldier’s helmet. Formally dedicated on Anzac Day 1964, the garden commemorates the district’s losses in the Boer War, both world wars and conflicts in Korea, Malaya and Vietnam. Benches and broad, even paths provide a place to pause and reflect beyond the commemorative services.
