Things to do in Chatswood: Food, shopping and art for visitors
Explore Chatswood’s shopping centres, market stalls and Art Space Gallery on a town-centre visit.

Chatswood Interchange is a major transport hub connecting metro, train and bus services. Arriving here puts you in the centre of the shopping and dining district, so you can explore without organising another journey between stops.
Before heading out, look upstairs: District Dining occupies the podium level, with restaurants including Ippudo. It’s an option for a meal on arrival or before catching your service home. For visitors arriving by train or metro, the Interchange provides a starting point, with the shops and cultural stops continuing along Victoria Avenue.
Browse books, shops and food at Westfield Chatswood

Westfield combines shopping with activities that can extend a visit beyond browsing stores. Its bookshops include Kinokuniya, Dymocks and QBD, while HOYTS on Level 6 gives you the option of building the afternoon around a film.
For lunch, head to Hawker Lane on Level 2. The food precinct brings together asian street food, claypot rice, donburi and malatang.
Explore fashion and dining at Chatswood Chase

Chatswood Chase offers another reason to continue along Victoria Avenue. Its shopping mix includes Australian labels such as Aje, Camilla and Country Road alongside luxury brands including Burberry, Cartier and Hermès. Choose it if fashion, accessories and designer stores are central to your visit.
There are also places to linger over food, with Fabbrica, Joie and Kazuma among the dining options. Harry Hartog adds a bookshop stop for visitors who would rather browse shelves than fashion collections.
Eat and browse at Chatswood Markets
Chatswood Markets bring food stalls, arts, crafts and accessories to the pedestrian mall and Spring Street. They run Thursday to Saturday, 10am–9pm, making them an option for lunch, afternoon browsing or an evening food stop.
The published offering includes pork buns, pastries, Japanese and Malaysian food, and gozleme. Walk through before ordering: the stalls give you room to choose a few different things, rather than committing the whole group to one meal.
Visit Art Space Gallery at The Concourse

Art Space Gallery adds an exhibition stop to a day otherwise centred on shopping and food. Its programme covers art, craft, cultural and design exhibitions, combining council-curated shows with work presented by artists, community groups and cultural organisations.
The programme includes free exhibitions. Check what’s showing and its opening dates before planning your visit around the gallery; the changing programme determines what you’ll see.
For a visit that includes every stop, choose a Thursday, Friday or Saturday when the markets are trading, then check the gallery programme. Use the Interchange as your arrival and departure point, and choose your meal stop around whichever part of the town centre you finish exploring.
